CML Team – News

Welcome – Jaqueline Kenney

The CML Team has grown and we welcome our new member Jaqueline Kenney, Senior Teaching Fellow in Management Education to the Centre. Jaqueline will work alongside Andy Adcroft on various Surrey IDEA projects and contribute to the Management Education in Practice programme (internal staff development programme). Jaqueline has extensive global experience in Management Education and worked with colleagues in DHE at Surrey on Learning and Teaching initiatives. She has also published and authored a number of papers focusing on blended learning, disruptive pedagogies and diversity of knowledge.


CML Teaching Projects

IDEA in a Day – SurreyIDEA widening participation programme launched

In October SurreyIDEA launched one of the University’s largest ever widening participation programmes with its innovative IDEA in a Day programme. Through IDEA in a Day we’ll welcome over 500 young people aged 15-17 into the school for an interactive digital innovation workshop. Click here to read more about this fantastic initiative.

CML Research & Grants

SAMS/BAM Research and Capacity Building Grant Scheme

The Society for the Advancement of Management Studies (SAMS) and the British Academy of Management (BAM) have announced that the online application form for the SAMS/BAM Research and Capacity Building Grant Scheme is now available by registering at: https://bam.grantplatform.com. SAMS/BAM Research and Capacity Building grants are aimed at researchers who want to develop an empirical research project that:

  • Enables capacity building by bringing together a group of researchers from at least two HE institutions, including early career as well as experienced researchers
  • Produces novel conceptual outcomes based on rigorous, innovative use of methods and by developing original ways of thinking to address complex management problems
  • Demonstrates the social value of management research conducted in the public interest

The maximum value of each award is £150,000. The duration of projects will be between 24 months (minimum) and 36 months (maximum). The application deadline is 30th September 2019, 17:00 (BST). Becoming Education-Focussed Professor

CML & CABS Joint workshop – Technology PlayPen

20th of November 2019, 9.30 am – 4 pm

Dr Will Lanham-New, Anna Holland and Dr Christine Rivers will deliver a “technology play-pen” workshop on the 20th of November at University of Liverpool in London.
