His brand of management teaching is richly grounded in industry practice in global airline marketing and extensive, on-going business engagement that infuses his delivery with ”inspiring up-to-date topics with great examples.” To address a trend for instrumentalism and tactical attendance Justin’s break through teaching “actively fosters student engagement”, ”constantly innovates” and harnesses the ”value of practical problem solving”. Justin is passionate about articulating excellent academic learning experiences into positive career outcomes and with his pedagogy and scholarship, passionately challenges traditional approaches to learning.
Plans for the future
Justin plans to develop his case study professional practise through further publications and mentoring. His on-going departmental leadership role, championing the student experience, will enable him to further explore the challenges faced international students assimilating into UK Higher Education and better understand the challenge of designing learning programmes that are simultaneously effective at nurturing deep and surface learners. Finally, Justin hopes to grow learning from emergent flipped and massively open online course approaches to investigate how better to catalyse learning that takes place beyond the classroom.
