Geoff McDonald is Executive Director of Open Minds Health, an organisation inspiring businesses to address workplace mental well-being culture for achievable, measurable and sustainable improvement of employee well-being. Combining comprehensive industry understanding of workplace culture, with extensive healthcare and organisational change expertise, Open Minds Health provide a whole-organisational approach that enables businesses to address the under-lying, root cause of poor employee well-being and benefit from increased employee engagement, productivity, retention and morale.
Geoff is the co-leader of the Minds@Work movement which aims to break the stigma of depression and anxiety in the working world. We want to create mentally and emotionally healthy and human workplaces where individuals can flourish and organisations prosper.
Geoff’s passion, expertise and unique understanding stem from his own personal experiences of poor mental well-being whilst working as Global VP HR at Unilever, where played a central role in transforming Unilever’s business model with purpose at its core.
Geoff is an inspiring, passionate public speaker who has also participated in a number of BBC programmes (BBC Radio 4, Mens Hour Radio 5, etc) and campaigns on the subject of corporate mental health, as well as writing of articles for Huffington Post, FT, The Daily Telegraph and HR related journals.
